Johannes von Thienen

Johannes II. Von Thienen or Johann, dictus de Tyne (* 1342 ; † 1397 ), knight , lord of Tollschlag ( Nieharde ) and Wippendorf (Kappeler Harde), was truchess and drost of the Schauenburg count Nikolaus since 1381 .

Life

John II von Thienen came from the Thienen family . He was a member of the Trinity and Karland Guild in Flensburg . He was the son of Johannes I. von Thienen (born 1310). Thienen was married to Anna von Lembeck , they had a son, Claus von Thienen, bailiff in Tondern, and a daughter, Beate von Thienen, married to Erich Krummediek , who was Thienen's successor as Drost.

His position made him one of the first officials in the duchy . Thienens power was not limited to Schleswig , it expanded according to the power of the Schauenburgers .

Johannes von Thienen died in Elmlohe, Cuxhaven, in Lower Saxony in 1397.
