Nieharde

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Nieharde ( Danish : Ny Herred ) was a harde in Schleswig . It is still known today as a landscape name. It is located in northeast fishing on the Flensburg Fjord . The name Nieharde indicates that it was severed from one or more other Harden.

founding

In the Viking Age, the fishing peninsula initially consisted of five Harden. These were summarized in the Istathesyssel . Later the Nieharde came to the office of Flensburg , the later district of Flensburg .

In King Waldemars Erdbuch the Nieharde 1231 is mentioned among other things with the villages Wippendorf , Rundhof , Wackerballig and Röst .

Administrative organization

Nye Herred, later Nieharde (Germanized new Harde ), stood for a sub-region in the fishing region defined for military and administrative reasons, which had a minimum population (especially in the military sense) corresponding to the purpose of a harde. In the course of time after the Nieharde and the other Harden had been determined, they were also given the task of ensuring order and, above all, justice at the lowest level. The meeting place of the Nieharde was Dingholz near Sterup .

Replacement by Prussian hierarchies

After warlike times from 1850 to 1864, the Duchy of Schleswig experienced a break from Danish dependencies and was assigned to Prussia after the end of the Prussian-Austrian disputes in 1865, which, if Prussian administrative regulations, led to the end of the appointment of Hardes bailiffs.
