Johannstorf is a district of the city Dassow in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg with 88 inhabitants. The neighboring village of Volkstorf is one kilometer away.

Attractions

There is an old manor in Johannstorf. Once there was a moated castle that was demolished. In 1743 a baroque brick building was built by the builder Rudolph Matthias Dallin. The building is two-story. The client was the Buchwald (t) family, who have been based in Johannstorf since 1412. In 1786 the Eckermann family bought the property, which they kept until it was expropriated in 1945. The house was then inhabited. Schloss Johannstorf has been privately owned again since 1993 and is currently being renovated.
