John Abineri
John Abineri (born May 18, 1928 in London , † June 29, 2000 in Bath , Somerset ) was a British actor .
Life
Abineri was born to an Australian father. He received his acting training at the Old Vic Theater School in Bristol. He learned several languages including German , French and Russian . Because of his knowledge of German, he was often busy in his roles as German, including Operation Crossbow , Storm on the iron coast and the outbreak of the 28 . In 1973 he was awarded for his portrayal of the chingachook in the James Fenimore Cooper based on the novel The Last of the Mohicans series Last Of The Mohicans for the Emmynominated, he also repeated the role in the series Hawkeye, the Pathfinder . He starred in two adaptations of the story of Robin Hood , 1975 as the father of Lady Marion in The Legend of Robin Hood and 1984 as Herne the Hunter in Robin Hood . In 1976 he had a recurring role in the series Survivors , he also played between 1968 and 1979 in 17 episodes of the series Doctor Who .
In addition to appearances in British television series such as 1978 in the 6-part series Der Mondschimmel , Abineri also played in a number of films , including the James Bond film Diamond Fever and The Godfather III .
