John de Beaumont, 4th Baron Beaumont KG (* 1361 ; † September 9, 1396 in Stirling ) was an English nobleman . At the age of eight he inherited the title following the early death of his father. He was married to Catherine Evrigham.

Career

He served at the court and in the military retinue of King Edward III from an early age . and was knighted on April 23, 1377. Then he took part in the first phase of the Hundred Years War in the campaign against France and against the supporters of Pope Clement VII . In 1389 he was appointed by the king to the Privy Council and appointed Warden of the Western Marches on the border with Scotland . He was also given the office of Admiral of the North . In the same year he was Constable of Dover Castle and from November 13, 1393 until his death Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports. He received the Writ of Summons to participate in the parliamentary sessions from August 20, 1383 to November 13, 1393. Also in 1393, King Richard II awarded him the Order of the Garter . In October 1395 he was a member of the English embassy to France, which was supposed to ask for the hand of Princess Isabel for Richard II .
