John Hutchison Black (born October 26, 1882 in Coylton , Scotland , † October 16, 1924 in Winnipeg ) was a Canadian marksman .
successes
John Black took part in the Olympic Games in Antwerp in 1920 and in Paris in a trap in 1924 . In 1920 he missed the top places in the individual with 52 points. In the team competition he finished in 1924 with the Canadian team behind the United States and before Finland in second place. With a total of 360 points, the team, which in addition to Black consisted of George Beattie , James Montgomery , Samuel Vance , Samuel Newton and William Barnes , was on a par with the Finns, but defeated them in a final jump-off and thus won the silver medal. Black was the fourth best shooter on the team with 87 points.
