Teaching

According to Maxwell, leadership brings people to clearly defined goals, it is time-independent and by its nature selfless. It is essentially about attaching value to other people and taking responsibility for them. Central questions are therefore: What do employees for whom I am responsible need? How can I help others be productive and successful? How can I live and recharge to have energy and passion for people and common goals? Leaders need self-discipline, a sense of responsibility and dedication to their tasks in order to achieve something long-term and sustainable.

Concept of the five levels of leadership

A key concept of John C. Maxwell is the five levels of leadership:

  1. Position (authorization) : People follow someone because they have to.
  2. Consent (relationship) : People follow someone because they want and like them.
  3. Product (results) : People follow someone because of what they have achieved for the organization.
  4. Human development (reproduction) : People follow someone because of what one has done for them personally.
  5. Tip (respect) : People follow someone because of who you are and what you represent.
