John C. Warner

John Charles Warner (born October 25, 1962 in Quincy , Massachusetts ) is an American chemist. He is considered a co-founder of green chemistry .

Career

Warner received his B.Sc. from the University of Massachusetts Boston and in 1988 his PhD from Princeton University . After ten years at Polaroid Corporation , he moved back to the University of Massachusetts Boston. There he introduced the world's first doctoral program in green chemistry. In 2009 he founded the Warner Babcock Institute for Green Chemistry with James Babcock, of which he is now President and CTO . Warner is also involved in the non-profit organization Beyond Benign , which is committed to training in green chemistry.
