John C. Wright

John Charles Justin Wright (born October 22, 1961 ) is an American writer.

He is the author of science fiction and fantasy novels and a finalist in the Nebula Awards for his fantasy novel Orphans of Chaos . Publishers Weekly said after his debut novel The Golden Age : This newbie could be the most important new science fiction talent of the century.

Life

The former lawyer , journalist, and editor graduated from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William & Mary in 1987 . As a freshman, he completed the Great Books program at St. Johns College of Maryland in 1984.

He started practicing law in three states ( New York May 1989, Maryland December 1990, Washington, DC January 1994). His law firm was unsuccessful and soon after drove him into bankruptcy. He then worked for the St. Mary Today newspaper . He currently works as a technical writer in Virginia , where he lives with his wife and author L. Jagi Lamplighter (St. John's College of Maryland, 1985 class) and their children. At the age of 42 he converted from atheism to Christianity . In 2008 he converted to the Roman Catholic Church , of which he affirmed: If Vulcans had a church, they would be Catholics . For several years, Wright has posted regular articles on his website on a wide variety of subjects, particularly science fiction.
