John Chichester, 6th Baronet

Sir John Chichester, 6th Baronet (1752 - September 30, 1808 ) was a British nobleman .

John Chichester came from a line of the Chichester family , an old family of gentry from Devon . He was the only son of his father of the same name, Sir John Chichester, and his wife, Frances Chudleigh . He studied from March 29, 1771 at Magdalen College , Oxford . After his father's death in late 1784, he inherited the title of Baronet , of Raleigh in the County of Devon, and the family's estates, including the manor at Youlston Park . From 1788 to 1789 he served as High Sheriff of Devon, but mostly the literary Chichester lived in London. He died unmarried and was buried in Ashton near Exeter . His heir was Arthur Chichester , a son of his cousin John Chichester .
