successor Seat Ibiza V.

The Seat Ibiza IV is the fourth generation of the Ibiza and was produced by Seat . It was presented on May 22, 2008 and, like the VW Polo V, is based on the VW PQ25 / A05 platform. Since June 14, 2008, it has been available from dealers as a five-door and three-door model (SC, "Sports Coupé"). The internal name is Seat Ibiza 6J, 6P from March 2015.

The following model lines are offered: Ibiza Reference (basic version ), Style , Sport , FR (Formula Racing), Cupra (Cup Racing) only as SC, Ecomotive and Color Edition (Lumina Orange or Galia Blue) only as SC.

Since June 2009 there has also been a slimmed-down version of the Ibiza SC, which was offered with 44 kW (60 PS) and slightly less equipment at an entry-level price of € 10,990. The "Good Stuff" special model with a 1.4l petrol engine (63 kW, 85 PS) with, among other things, 16 "light-alloy wheels (Sonda), which was only available in this special edition, was launched in March 2010.

The “Bocanegra” package has been available since spring 2010, and can only be ordered for the three-door FR and Cupra models. Externally, the Seat Bocanegra ("black snout") stands out from the normal Ibiza with the black radiator grille, the front apron with integrated fog lights, specially shaped fenders, 17-inch alloy wheels in silver and the modified rear. The name is a reference to the Spanish nickname of the Seat 1200 Sport Coupé introduced in 1975 .

Since July 2010, a combination version of the Ibiza has been available with the name Ibiza ST. It is around 18 cm longer than the five-door hatchback sedan. According to Seat, this combination variant of the Ibiza has not been produced since July 2016 and is therefore only available as a used or stock and preliminary model.

Spotify Package and Program

Since early 2011, Ibiza is the Spanish market in the version Spotify offered one of the Reference similar -Grundausstattung version, but with a Bluetooth - interface of the radio to iPhones and similar devices. To this end, Seat works with telephone providers on the Spanish market. For the first six months, a provider offers flat-rate use of Samsung Galaxy mini devices free of charge. In addition to the Ibiza, there are also vehicles from other series with the Spotify equipment.

Model maintenance

2012

On March 24, 2012, the revised Ibiza was presented at the Geneva Motor Show . It received a modified front with newly drawn headlights. The interior has also been modified: new fabrics, a modernized dashboard and an enlarged glove compartment.

"Sport" and "Cupra" versions were temporarily withdrawn from the program. There were only the equipment variants Reference, Style and FR. From the beginning of 2013, the Ibiza was again available as a "Cupra" version.

2015 (type 6P)

At the Mondial de l'Automobile in Paris in autumn 2014, Seat presented another modified Ibiza, which was on sale from mid-2015.

The changes largely affected vehicle parts under the sheet metal, whereby the internal type designation changed from the original 6J to 6P . With the facelift, the Ibiza received a new chassis with optional adjustment options in two hardness levels via the "sport button". If the sport mode is activated, the steering, throttle response and sound (in the interior) of the vehicle also change. In addition, the facelift gave the Ibiza the new Seat brand logo. High-quality materials have now been used in the interior and the buyer has been given more individualization through various color packs, among other things. The cockpit has also been redesigned: new round instruments with a larger multifunctional display, a central 6.5 "screen with Seat Media System and navigation system with optional FullLink function, and a new multifunction steering wheel.

The Ibiza also received a revised range of engines. The smallest available gasoline engine was a one-liter three-cylinder with 55 kW (75 hp), which was available in several expansion stages. The 1.2 TSI and the 1.4 TSI have been replaced by the 1.0 ecoTSI with 70 kW (95 PS) or 81 kW (110 PS), which is also available with a 7-speed DSG. The 1.4 TSI (ACT) FR was later also taken out of the range or was reserved for its big brother Leon.

The Ibiza is available in the equipment variants Reference, Style and FR. In September 2015, a new Cupra version was presented at the IAA. This was henceforth offered with a revised 1.8 TSI engine with an output of 141 kW (192 PS). The production of the estate variant Seat Ibiza ST ended in July 2016, that of the 3-door and thus also the Cupra at the end of 2016. The 5-door was also discontinued for the 2017 model change.
