The Seat Tango is a concept car from Seat , which was presented in 2001 at the IAA in Frankfurt. Series production had been promised - most recently for 2005 - but the concept was not actually implemented.

engine

First, the roadster was presented with a four-cylinder in-line turbo engine with 20 valves installed across the front. At 5600 revolutions per minute, with a maximum torque of 235 Nm already at 1950 revolutions per minute, an output of 180 hp was envisaged. A manual six-speed gearbox was installed.

Later the Tango was powered by a six-cylinder engine with 184 kW (250 hp) and a displacement of 2791 cm³. At 3200 revolutions per minute it delivers a maximum torque of 297 Nm and with the help of the all-wheel drive accelerates the car from 0 to 100 km / h within seven seconds, the maximum speed should be 235 km / h (electronically governed). A five-speed automatic transmission was used for shifting .

Body and interior

The concept roadster has no roof and no trunk, but instead a drawer-like storage space in the rear. The interior is spartan: the seats are not adjustable, the pedals and the steering wheel are electrically adjusted to the seating position. The tachometer is in the middle of the instrument panel and is started with the starter button.

innovation

The roadster is equipped with the latest drive control systems ( ABS , EBV (traction control), TCS (stability program) and ESP ). The road is illuminated by xenon headlights that adjust themselves when cornering.
