The Seat Leon (internally 3R) is one of Seat produced by the end of 2008 by mid-2013 vehicle of the middle class . The name is derived from the Latin verb exeo ("I'm going out") and refers to the expansion of the model range above the Toledo , which it indirectly replaces.

history

The Exeo was presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 2008 . Originally, the model was supposed to emerge from the study of the same name under the name Seat Bolero . In addition to the notchback sedan introduced in March 2009, the Exeo ST estate variant was also offered from June 2009 .

Technically, the Seat Exeo corresponds to the Audi A4 B7 . The body-in-white, drive train and chassis are identical. Most of the engines were adopted from the Audi A4 B8 and the chassis was optimized. The changes are limited to the front design redesigned by Seat chief designer Luc Donckerwolke , the likewise redesigned tailgate for both body variants and the exterior mirrors. The dashboard corresponds to that of the Audi A4 Cabriolet. Both body variants were manufactured on the production facilities taken over from Ingolstadt in Martorell , Spain . The transport of the production facilities comprised 1200 truckloads.

Facelift

In September 2011, a revised version of the Exeo was presented at the IAA . The vehicle got a new honeycomb grille in general, as well as the most significant trim levels were now with xenon headlights and LED - daytime running lights fitted. Another innovation in the facelift was the introduction of the automatic start-stop system to reduce fuel consumption.

In May 2013, the production of the Exeo ended after 81,552 vehicles were produced. There is no direct successor, making the Seat Toledo IV the manufacturer's only sedan, while the Leon III and the Ibiza IV are available as station wagons. However, these are all smaller than the Exeo.
