John Daly (film producer)
John Daly (born July 16, 1937 in London , † October 31, 2008 in Los Angeles ) was a British film producer .
Career
In 1967 Daly founded the shirtale production company with actor David Hemmings . First he produced bands like Yes and Black Sabbath as well as the musicals Oliver! and grease . Daly was a co-promoter of the boxing match between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman in 1974. From the late 1970s Daly worked as a film producer. In total, the films produced by his company were nominated for 21 Oscars and won 13 of them. 1986 and 1987 won with platoon and The last emperor two of his productions consecutively won the Oscar for best picture.
