John Geiser McHenry

John Geiser McHenry (born April 26, 1868 in Benton Township , Columbia County , Pennsylvania , †  December 27, 1912 in Benton , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . Between 1907 and 1912 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

John McHenry attended his homeland public schools and the Orangeville Academy . He then worked in banking, crafts and agriculture. He founded the Farmer Credit Unions ( Grange National Banks ) in the state of Pennsylvania. Politically, he joined the Democratic Party .

In the 1906 congressional election , McHenry was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC in the 16th  constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Republican Edmund W. Samuel on March 4, 1907 . After two re-elections, he could remain in Congress until his death on December 27, 1912 .
