John Hare

John Hare , also Dan Fulani (born December 11, 1934 ) is a British journalist , writer and environmentalist .

Live and act

John Hare spent seven years with the British colonial administration in northern Nigeria and later also worked for the United Nations Environment Program in Africa . Between 1992 and 2002 he undertook six expeditions into the desert Gashun Gobi and the Lop Nor desert where she investigated u. a. the populations of wild saltwater camels Camelus ferus bactrianus . From October 2001 to February 2002 he undertook an expedition through the Sahara on the traces of Hanns Vischer's crossing of the Sahara in 1906.

He is the initiator, founding member and chairman of the Wild Camel Protection Foundation , founded in 1997 , which is dedicated to the protection of wild camels in Asia.

Hare is also active as a writer and has published several non-fiction books about his expeditions in Asia and Africa . In addition, he wrote a number of books for children and young people , the plot of which is mostly set in Asia or Africa. Hare has published around 30 books for children and young people under the pseudonym Dan Fulani .
