John Herman Merivale
John Herman Merivale (born August 5, 1779 in Exeter, † April 25, 1844 in Bedford Square , London ) was an English translator and lawyer.
From 1831 Merivale was agent in bankruptcy proceedings. He was married to Louisa Heath Drury, daughter of Dr. Drury, principal of Harrow ; his second son was the historian Charles Merivale .
John Herman Merivale worked with Robert Bland (1770-1825) in his Collections from the Greek Anthology . He published excellent translations from Italian and German .
