John Howard Davies
John Howard Davies (born March 9, 1939 in London , England , † August 22, 2011 in Blewbury , Oxfordshire ) was a British actor , television director and producer.
Life
John Howard Davies father was the screenwriter Jack Davies (1913-1994).
Davies played the title role in Oliver Twist alongside Alec Guinness under the direction of David Lean in 1948 .
Most recently he worked as a producer and produced many episodes of the series Mr. Bean and Monty Python's Flying Circus . Davies was nominated a total of seven times for the BAFTA TV Award, in 1976 he was honored with this.
John Howard Davies died at the age of 72 of complications from cancer on August 22, 2011 in Blewbury, Oxfordshire, England .
