John Joseph Carroll

John Joseph Carroll (born December 23, 1865 in Bresnor , Piltown , Ireland ; † May 8, 1949 ) was an Australian Roman Catholic clergyman and Bishop of Lismore .

John Joseph Carroll was from Ireland and received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Ossory on May 31, 1890 .

He came to Australia and was called to Bishop of Lismore on December 2, 1909. He was ordained bishop on March 6, 1910 by the Archbishop of Sydney , Patrick Francis Moran, with the assistance of the Bishop of Maitland , Patrick Vincent Dwyer, and the Bishop of Armidale , Patrick Joseph O'Connor .

He died on May 8, 1949 after 39 years in the episcopate.
