John Longenecker

John William Longenecker (born February 12, 1947 in Hollywood ) is an American film producer and screenwriter .

Life

Longenecker was born as the second son of actress Ruth Hussey and radio producer Robert Longenecker . He grew up in Lake Arrowhead and studied from 1967 at the film school of the University of California and from 1968 film production at the USC Cinema Department of the University of Southern California . His graduation film from the University of Southern California in 1970 was The Resurrection of Broncho Billy , a metropolitan short western who won an Oscar in 1971 for Best Short Film.

After completing his studies, Longenecker completed an internship at the American Film Institute and worked as a production assistant to George Roy Hill on the 1973 film The Clou . When published the following year movie The Trial of Billy Jack by Tom Laughlin , he was involved as a casting director and production assistant. Since then he has worked as a cameraman and producer in the music video and advertising sector; at Dwight Yoakams South of Heaven, West of Hell he was active as assistant director and camera assistant.

Longenecker is a member of the Directors Guild of America .
