John Lundgren

John Otto Lundgren (* 12. October 1968 ) is a Swedish opera singer of the vocal compartment dramatic baritone .

Life

Lundgren grew up in Sweden and studied at the Det Kongelige Danske Music Conservatory in Copenhagen . While still a student, he became a member of the ensemble at the Royal Theater there . Various engagements led him to a. to the opera houses in Munich, London, Leipzig, Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Oslo, Zurich, Beijing and Tokyo as well as to the Bregenz and Bayreuth Festivals .

His repertoire mainly includes the vocal subject of the dramatic baritone, but also other roles. His repertoire includes: Scarpia ( Tosca ), Amonasro ( Aida ), Schaunard ( La Bohème ), Giorgio Germont ( La traviata ), Escamillo ( Carmen ), Kurwenal ( Tristan and Isolde ), Albiani ( Simon Boccanegra ), Don Pizarro ( Fidelio ), Telramund ( Lohengrin ), Amfortas ( Parsifal ), Barak ( The Woman Without a Shadow ), the title role in The Flying Dutchman , Wotan ( The Valkyrie ) and the Wanderer ( Siegfried ).
