John Moulson

John Moulson (born July 25, 1928 in Kansas City , Missouri , † 1994) was an American opera singer ( tenor ).

Life

Moulson initially trained as a television technician. He then studied singing and was discovered by Walter Felsenstein at a competition in Bayreuth .

In 1961 he made his debut at the Komische Oper Berlin in Puccini's Tosca (director: Götz Friedrich ). He remained loyal to the Komische Oper for over 30 years, but made guest appearances internationally.

After initially taking on roles in the lyrical and Spinto disciplines, he gradually developed into a character tenor .

Moulson was married to the soprano Magdalena Falewicz .
