Un matrimonio interplanetario ( Italian : An interplanetary wedding ) is a 1910 Italian science fiction film. Other showing titles include Un marriage interplanétaire ( France ) and Marriage in the Moon ( Great Britain ).

action

Aldovino observes the starry sky with a telescope and discovers the beautiful Yala on Mars , who in turn discovers him in her telescope. They both fall in love and want to get married.

Therefore Aldovino sends via telegraph a telegram to Mars and keeps with her father for her hand. However, the father made it a condition for the wedding that Aldovino land on the moon in a year . Fulfilling this task seems impossible. But both Aldovino and Yala can each build a spaceship with which they land on the moon at the same time.

Production history

Director Enrico Novelli (1876–1943), better known by his stage name Yambo, only made this one film, which is considered to be the first fantastic film in Italy.

It is unclear whether the film was also shown in Germany . The Internet Movie Database mentions planets as a German dubbed title Eine Hochzeit , which, however, makes little sense.

Lore

In 2014 the film was put online by the Museo nazionale del cinema in Turin through Vimeo with English subtitles .
