John Patrick Hayes

John Patrick Hayes (born March 1, 1930 in New York , † August 21, 2000 in Burbank , California ) was an American film director , screenwriter , producer and actor. In 1959 he was nominated for an Oscar for the producer of the short film The Kiss .

Life

John Patrick Hayes began directing short films in the 1950s. In 1958 he wrote the screenplay for the short film The Kiss , who at the Academy Awards 1959 as Best Short Film was nominated. It did, however, win Grand Canyon , produced by Walt Disney .

In 1961 he made his first feature film, The Grass Eater . From then on, he mainly served the B-film audience and jumped with works such as The Farmer's Other Daughter (1965), A Body Full of Lust (1969), the Nazi propaganda film The Cut-Throats , Sweet Trash (1970) and Die Gruft des Grauens (1972) referred to the wave of exploitation films that was very widespread at the time . He also did some porn in the 1970s. Occasionally he used the pseudonyms Harold Perkins and Harold Brown .

His last two works were an episode from the television series Tales from the Shadow World (1985) and two episodes from the porn film Working Girls (1985).

John Hayes died of cancer in 2000 .
