John Russell Baird
John Russell Baird PC , MP (born May 26, 1969 in Nepean , Ontario ) is a Canadian politician of the Conservative Party of Canada .
Baird was born in Nepean (now part of Ottawa ) and studied at Queen's University .
Between 1995 and 2005 he was a Member of the Ontario Parliament . Baird was elected to the House of Commons in 2006 and was Foreign Minister from May 2011. Before that he was Environment Minister from 2007 to 2008 and from November 2010 to January 2011 and from 2008 to 2010 Minister of Transport . On February 3, 2015, Baird resigned as foreign minister and announced to give up his parliamentary seat.
