John Samis

John Clouston Samis (born November 15, 1918 in Swift Current , † July 18, 2010 ) was a Canadian badminton player .

Career

John Samis was the 1938 Canadian champion in men's singles. His career was then suddenly interrupted by the Second World War. However, even after the title fights were resumed, he managed to win two more championships in men's singles in 1947 and 1948. He was inducted into the Canadian Badminton Hall of Fame in September 2009, after being inducted into the BC Sports Hall of Fame in 1972.
