Nils Johan "John" Sundberg (born December 20, 1920 in Gävle , † February 10, 2004 in Jättendal ) was a Swedish sports shooter .

John Sundberg took part in the 1956 Olympic Games in Melbourne and 1964 in Tokyo . With the free rifle he finished sixth in the three-position fight in 1956, while he secured the bronze medal with the small caliber in the three-position fight with 1167 points as third behind Anatoli Bogdanow and Otakar Hořínek . He was twelfth in the prone position. He finished the 1964 games with the free rifle in the three-position fight in eleventh place, with the small-caliber he finished the competition in the three-position fight in 27th place and in the prone position in 51st place.

In Caracas , Sundberg secured seven medals at the 1954 World Championships . In the kneeling position with the free rifle and in the standing position with the small caliber he won silver and bronze respectively. In team competitions he took third place with the free rifle in the three-position fight and with the small bore in the standing position and second with the small bore in the three-position fight and in the kneeling position. Sundberg was world champion with the small bore team in the lying position. He repeated this success with another title win in 1962 in Cairo .
