Steffen Lieberwirth (born March 10, 1952 in Leipzig ) is a German musicologist , dramaturge and journalist .

Life

Steffen Lieberwirth studied musicology and German at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig and the Martin Luther University in Halle . Then he worked in the concert and guest performance management in Leipzig. In 1979 he became a freelancer in the field of reportage and music history at Radio DDR , Sender Leipzig. From 1981 he worked as a dramaturge , from 1982 to 1989 he was head of the dramaturgy at the Leipzig Gewandhaus under Gewandhauskapellmeister Kurt Masur . In 1990/91 he headed the main culture department at Sachsen Radio , where he set up the “Saxony 3 - Culture” program. From 1992 he was the music director of MDR Kultur and MDR Figaro . In 2010 he became chief producer of the MDR radio programs .

From 1996 to 2008 he was a member of the advisory board of the Goethe Institute . In 1996 he founded the radio program magazine Triangel. The radio for reading , of which he was editor-in-chief until 2006. He then became the project manager of the CD / DVD documentary series “Edition Staatskapelle Dresden ” (2005), “ Semperoper Edition” (2009) and “Edition Gewandhausorchester ” (2011).
