Steffen Lieberwirth (born March 10, 1952 in Leipzig ) is a German musicologist , dramaturge and journalist .

Life

Steffen Lieberwirth studied musicology and German at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig and the Martin Luther University in Halle . Then he worked in the concert and guest performance management in Leipzig. In 1979 he became a freelancer in the field of reportage and music history at Radio DDR , Sender Leipzig. From 1981 he worked as a dramaturge , from 1982 to 1989 he was head of the dramaturgy at the Leipzig Gewandhaus under Gewandhauskapellmeister Kurt Masur . In 2010 he became chief producer of the MDR radio programs .

From 1996 to 2008 he was a member of the advisory board of the Goethe Institute . In 1996 he founded the radio program magazine Triangel.
