John Watkins (psychologist)

John Goodrich Watkins (* 17th March 1913 ; † 12. January 2012 ) was a US -American Psychologist and was mainly through his research and methods in the field of hypnosis and hypnotherapy known.

Watkins graduated from the University of Idaho and received his Ph.D. Degree from Columbia University . He spent most of his teaching at the University of Montana (USA), where he also gave long lectures as an emeritus .

Together with his wife Helen Watkins , he developed Ego-State Therapy , which, when looking for the causes of mental disorders, does not follow talk therapy, but rather analyzes the personality of those affected.
