The Johnny Hoe River is a tributary of Great Bear Lake in Canada's Northwest Territories .
The river has its origin in Lac Taché . It initially flows west, but then turns north about 10 km east of Keller Lake . It takes up the outflow of Keller Lake, flows east past Birch Lake , flows through Lake Sainte Thérèse and finally flows with several estuary arms into the western end of the McVikar Arm , a bay in the south of the Great Bear Lake. Its catchment area of around 17,500 km² is in the taiga plain .
In the years 1969–1992 hydrological runoff data were recorded on the Johnny Hoe River above Lac Sainte Thérèse. In contrast to the neighboring Camsell River , there are no larger lakes on the course of the Johnny Hoe River, which could smooth the discharge peaks of the annual spring flood .
