The Johnson Spire is a 1570 m high mountain with a pointed peak in the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the northeastern part of the Britannia Range , it looms between the Cranfield Icefalls and the Gaussiran Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 2000 after Bradish F. Johnson, head of the Optical Science Laboratory of the United States Geological Survey , responsible for the calibration of the cameras used in geodetic surveys and from 1999 to 2000 in cooperation with the Ohio State University participates in GPS measurements in the Transantarctic Mountains .
