The Splendid Studios GmbH (until 2018: Joker Productions ) is a German film production company that the media company Splendid Medien belongs. It produces various TV formats for the TV channels ProSieben , RTL , RTL II , VOX , WDR and ZDF , among others . She also produces commercials and image films for companies.
history
Splendid Studios was founded in 1996 as Joker Productions GmbH by Patrick Ach based in Kiel . She achieved success in the 2010s with productions such as Die Geissens - A terribly glamorous family and the Die Wollnys - A terribly large family .
Joker Productions GmbH was acquired in January 2016 by a majority (60%) indirectly from Splendid Medien AG; Patrick Ach remained managing partner. Since then, the company has been included in the consolidated financial statements of Splendid Medien AG. With effect from March 1, 2016, a profit transfer agreement was concluded with Splendid Entertainment GmbH as the controlling company. In April 2018, Splendid Entertainment acquired a further 25% of the shares and thus increased the stake to 85%. Subsequently, the management was newly appointed, the company founder Patrick Ach resigned as managing director. In May 2018, the company's headquarters were relocated to Cologne. In October 2018, Joker Productions changed its name to Splendid Studios GmbH .
