Jolanta Kwaśniewska
Jolanta Kwaśniewska b. Konty (born June 3, 1955 in Danzig / Polish Gdańsk ) is a Polish lawyer. From 1995 to 2005 she was the First Lady of Poland.
Life
During her studies at the University of Gdansk , she was the chairwoman of the Socialist Union of Polish Students , where her future husband also worked. Her husband, Aleksander Kwaśniewski , whom she married in November 1979, was President of Poland from 1995 to 2005 .
In 1997 she founded the charity Porozumienie bez barier , which takes care of sick or disabled children. She was also the presenter of TVN Style, which is primarily aimed at women .
She has a daughter.
In 2003 the press fueled rumors that she would run as her husband's successor in the 2005 presidential election. Although she achieved good poll numbers, she decided in late 2004 not to run for office.
