Jonáš Forejtek (born March 10, 2001 in Pilsen ) is a Czech tennis player .

Career

Forejtek was eligible to play as a junior until the end of 2019. This year he played particularly successfully and won a total of three Grand Slam titles after he was 26th in the junior ranking at the end of 2018. First Forejtek won doubles at the Australian Open alongside Dalibor Svrčina and at Wimbledon with Jiří Lehečka . After less success in singles, he won the singles of the US Open in September . In the final he defeated the American Emilio Nava . With the victory he took over the top of the junior world rankings. At the end of the year he finished fifth in the ITF Junior Finals.

He also competed in several professional tournaments in 2019. On the third-class ITF Future Tour he won one title in singles and two titles in doubles. He also won his first title on the higher endowed ATP Challenger Tour . With Michael Vrbenský he won the title in Liberec . In the world rankings , he achieved his highest ranking in singles in October with 527 in singles and 332 in doubles.

Forejtek made his debut for the Czech Davis Cup team in 2019 and contributed to the 3-2 victory of his team with two wins against Bosnia-Herzegovina.
