Jon Skolmen (born November 1, 1940 in Oslo ; † March 28, 2019 there ) was a Norwegian actor , comedian and presenter .

Life

After graduating from school and studying, Skolmen worked for a short time as a substitute teacher and physical education teacher. In 1960 he made his first stage debut in a revue with Einar Schanke . Between 1963 and 1981 he worked for the NRK . First he started there as a simple production and director assistant, from 1967 he was responsible for the children's and youth department and in 1970 for entertainment. He also got his first own broadcasts on the NRK and was also active as an actor. With the short film The Nor-Way to Broadcasting of the NRK, he won the Golden Rose and special prize of the city of Montreux at the Rose d'Or as well as the Chaplin Prize as a screenwriter with co-author Trond Kirkvaag .

Skolmen also found a large audience in neighboring Sweden as a major supporting actor in the comedy film Sällskapsresan and in its four sequels as Ole Bramserud, the Norwegian friend of the main character Stig Helmer-Olsson, where he appeared in these roles together with the Swedish actor Lasse Åberg . In the 1980s, Skolmen also made several appearances on the popular Swedish sketch comedy show Nöjesmassakern and took part in the revue Dizzie Tunes in Sweden and Norway.

He also played in several Norwegian film and television productions. In 1984 he appeared in the Norwegian Olsen Gang as a security guard in the Munch Museum in the film … men Olsen Gang var ikke død! and in 1986 a role in the film Plastposen , for which he also wrote the screenplay and in which he directed. He appeared as Uncle Donkel in the Norwegian film Alexander , and played a police officer in the 1993 thriller Holiday With a Corpse .

Until 2007, Skolmen worked again with his former partner Trond Kirkvaag , for example in the NRK sitcom Luftens Helter , which was only discontinued shortly before Kirkvaag's death.

Jon Skolmen is the father of actor Christian and Tine Skolmen and the brother of director Eli Skolmen Ryg . He is also the uncle of the actresses Anne Ryg and Hege Schøyen . With his niece Hege Schøyen he played together in the Swedish comedy Den ofrivillige golfaren in 1991 , where he appeared as their lover, which is why some love scenes had to be dispensed with. He had his last appearances in 2011 in the series Norwegian Gemütlichkeit and in the tragic comedy The Stig-Helmer Story as Ole.

For his life's work, Skolmen received the Komiprisen (comedian prize) as an honorary award and the Hedersprisen in 2009 .
