Jonas Algirdas Antanaitis (born August 19, 1921 in Rimšiniai , Pakruojis district ; † September 8, 2018 ) was a Lithuanian politician .

Life

His father was a farmer and administrator of Pašvitinis . Jonas Algirdas graduated from Joniškis grammar school and from 1939 to 1944 studied civil engineering at the Faculty of Engineering at Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas . From 1944 he taught the organization of construction work. In 1945 he was arrested by the KGB and then convicted of political activity. Until 1954 he was in camps, mostly in Vorkuta . From 1957 he worked in Lithuania as a project manager, from 1977 to 1995 he was the chief constructor at the Institute for Project Planning in Industrial Construction. From 1995 to 1996 he was a member of the Seimas .

He was a member of the Lietuvos socialdemokratų partija .
