Jonas Varkala

Jonas Varkala (born March 23, 1951 in Pažėrai , Prienai district ) is a Lithuanian Catholic clergyman and politician, leader of the Drąsos kelias party .

Life

From 1958 Varkala attended the Išlaužas school and then the Kudirkos elementary school . From 1966 to 1969 he graduated from the Prienai Middle School . After that, Varkala suffered from pulmonary tuberculosis and was treated for several years. In 1972 he studied at the 28th Kaunas Technical School and worked at the “Neris” plant. From 1975 to 1980 he graduated from Kaunas Seminary and was ordained a priest. From 1980 to 2012 he worked as vicar and pastor in A. Panemunė, Meteliai , Santaika, Pakuonis and most recently in Garliava (in the Holy Trinity Parish ). In 2012 he got the suspense (from Archbishop Kaunas ). In October 2012 he was selected for the Seimas with Drąsos kelias .

Varkala speaks Lithuanian and Russian.
