Kaunas Seminary
The Kaunas Seminary (lit. Kauno kunigų seminarija ) is a Catholic seminary in Kaunas , the second largest city in Lithuania , department of the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the Vytautas Magnus University Kaunas (VDU), a former non-state university . There are bachelor, master, licensed and doctoral programs. The course begins with the preparatory course.
The seminarians from the Archdiocese of Kaunas , the Diocese of Šiauliai and the Diocese of Vilkaviškis study at the seminar . In 2005 there were 37 teachers, including 6 professors, 15 theology and 7 canon law doctors. There were 65 seminarians. A seminarist “cost” over 15,000 litas (4348 euros) in 2005. Preparing a priest costs 95,000 litas (27,500 euros).
