The Diocese of Šiauliai (also: Diocese of Schaulen , Latin Dioecesis Siauliensis , Lithuanian Šiaulių vyskupija ) is a diocese in northern Lithuania with its seat in Šiauliai . It is the youngest diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Lithuania .

Bishop is Eugenijus Bartulis (since 1997).

history

The diocese is a suffragan of the archdiocese of Kaunas and was formed on May 8, 1997 from parts of the dioceses Panevėžys (in the east), Kaunas (in the south) and Telšiai .

Well-known place of pilgrimage in the diocese is the Hill of Crosses .
