Jone Takamäki

Jouni Kullervo Takamäki (born December 30, 1955 in Helsinki ) is a Finnish jazz saxophonist and actor.

Takamäki made his debut as a jazz musician in 1978 and toured Denmark with his own band the following year. In 1981 he received the Pekka Pöyry Award and released his first album. With the bassist Antti Hytti and the drummer Samppa Salmi , he founded a trio that released the album Universal Mind based on Indian music in 1982 . He toured Europe with the group and in the same year founded the group Roommushklahn with Hytti, Jarmo Savolainen , Tom Nekljudow and Raoul Björkenheim .

After Takamäki graduated from the Finnish Theater Academy in 1983, he worked primarily as a television and theater actor during the 1980s. a. under the directors Aki Kaurismäki and Jouko Turkka .

In 1989 he returned to jazz music as a member of Edward Vesala's band. After studying in Bali, he became a member of the Krakatau group in 1991 , to which he was a member until 1997. During this time he worked on the albums Volition (1992) and Matinale (1994). In 1997 he played a musician in Tuomari Nurmio's musical film Hotel VooDoo . In 1998 he went on a tour of Finland with Hytti and Nekljudow.

Since 1999, he and Hytti led the group Suhkan Uhka , which included musicians such as Juhani Aaltonen and Verneri Pohjola .
