The Jones Nunatak is a 1315 m high nunatak on the Oates coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Wilson Hills it rises at the head of the Noll Glacier at a distance of 6.5 km west of Mount Schutz .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1960 and 1963. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1970 after boatswain's mate Frank E. Jones of the VX-6 flight squadron of the US Navy, a member of the ground crew at Williams Field airfield on McMurdo Sound during Operation Deep Freeze in 1967 and 1968.
