The Jonsberg is a flat conical mountain of the Zittau Mountains with 653 m above sea level. The Jonsberg is completely forested.
Location and surroundings
The Jonsberg rises to the east above the village of Jonsdorf . Oybin is located to the east and south-east of the mountain . The railway line of the Zittau narrow-gauge railway to Jonsdorf is located on the western slope . The road from Hain to Jonsdorf runs south of the mountain . From this, the old trade route "Leipaer Straße" branches off to the north at the southern end of the mountain, which touches the mountain in the east.
Paths to the summit
- Possible starting points for the ascent to the summit are both Jonsdorf and Oybin or its district of Hain. Between Hain and Jonsdorf there is parking at the “Stern” (junction of the old Leipaer Straße), which is an ideal starting point.
Winter sports
A groomed trail for cross-country skiing runs around the Jonsberg in winter. If the snow conditions are favorable, the old Leipaer Straße can be used to Olbersdorf.
