Joop Korebrits (1965)

Joop Korebrits (born April 24, 1943 in Breda , † December 26, 2011 ) was a Dutch football player .

Athletic career

Korebrits began playing football at BSV Boeimeer in 1953 , and in 1956 the goalkeeper joined the youth of NAC Breda . In October 1961 he made his debut for the competition team, but in the following years was mainly in the shadow of the later national goalkeeper Peter van de Merwe . By the time he left in 1968, he had only made 59 competitive appearances, 55 of which were championship games. He was relegated with the club from the Eredivisie in 1965 . First at VV Baronie and from 1972 until his retirement in 1975 at SV Veerse Boys , he let his career end in the amateur field.

Korebrits later became involved in various functions at NAC Breda, including working as a goalkeeping coach. In Rat Verlegh Stadium the "Gate 4" is named after him.
