Joop van Erven
Joop van Erven (* 1949 ) is a Dutch jazz drummer.
Van Erven studied classical drums until 1974. He then worked in bands of various Dutch jazz musicians, including Willem van Manen , Herman de Wit and Paul van Kemenade . With Loek Dikker he toured Europe, Canada and the USA. Between 1976 and 1980 he organized jazz workshops with Guus Tangelder at the Arnhem Conservatory . He teaches there and at the Artez Hogeschool voor de kunsten Arnhem . Since 1991 he has been a member of Michiel Braam's big band . He was also active at the Shaffy Theater and the music group De Ereprijs . He also takes part in classical drum ensembles and composes.
