Jordan Leondopoulos

Jordan Leondopoulos (born before 1969) is a film director , film editor and academic.

Life

In 1969, Leondopoulos directed the film Wer die Killer ruft ( Sam's Song ) with the young Robert De Niro in a leading role. Subsequently, he was involved in the editing of the horror film The Exorcist in 1973 , for which he was nominated for the Oscar in the category Best Editing with his colleagues Norman Gay, Evan A. Lottman and Bud S. Smith .

The company Cannon Films , which produced his film from 1969, was in 1979 by Menahem Golan and Globus Yoram bought. The two commissioned John C. Broderick to edit the film in order to generate income with the now famous actor Robert De Niro. Completely new movie scenes were also shot. This new version of the film was re-released under the title The Swap and later also distributed as the Line of Fire . Leondopoloulus himself used the pseudonym "John Shade" for this version.

In 1981 he was still involved in the editing of Wolfen , after which he turned to an academic career and also earned a doctorate. In later years he worked at the City College of New York .
