Jorge Alberto Lepra Loiodice (born September 4, 1942 , † January 4, 2016 in Montevideo ) was a Uruguayan politician and diplomat .

Jorge Lepra studied in 1963 at the law and social science faculty ("Facultad de Derecho y Ciencias Sociales") of the Universidad de la República . After working in an advertising agency from 1962 to 1964, he started working for Texaco Uruguay SA in 1965 . There he went through various career stages and finally held the position of general manager from 1989 to 1990. From 1991 to 1993 he was Executive Vice President of Texaco Uruguay y Argentina . He held the same position from 1992 to 2002 at Texaco Uruguay SA and in 2003 at Texaco Uruguay y Paraguay SA . From 1995 to 1998 he was also Vice President of Club Atlético Peñarol .

Leprosy was Minister for Industry, Energy and Mining in the government of Tabaré Vázquez from March 1, 2005 to March 3, 2008 . In 2008 he was appointed Ambassador of Uruguay to France. He held the office until 2010. He then was General Manager of the airline Pluna until 2012 .

Leprosy was married to María Elena Oliver and had four children. He died in the Sanatorio Americano of complications from a heart disease, for which he had been in inpatient treatment there since October 2015.
