Jorge Pítari

Jorge A. Pítari (born April 16, 1943 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine tango composer.

Until 1972 Pítari studied at the Universidad Católica Argentina with Luis Gianneo , Roberto Caamaño and Gerardo Gandini . With a scholarship from the city of Buenos Aires, he continued his education with Gabriel Brnčić , José Maranzano and Francisco Kröpfl . He taught music theory, harmony, counterpoint, composition and orchestration at the Conservatorio Provincial Juan José Castro in La Lucila, the Conservatorio Provincial Alberto Ginastera in Morón and is Professor of Composition and Arrangement at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música Carlos López Buchardo in Buenos Aires.

With the composition Kaleidoskop for flute, oboe, bassoon, violin, viola, cello and piano, Pítari won the 1974 Luis Gianneo Composition Competition. For the Orquesta no Típica of the University of Bremen he composed the tango Lo que se fue (2001), the first part of the triptych Diálogos con Piazzolla .
