Jori Tokyo

Jori Tokyo (* 9. April 1973 as Johannes Riedmann in Munich ) is a German artist in the field of computer art , performance and sound art .

Live and act

Growing up in Regensburg , Jori Tokyo initially experiments with codes, algorithmic computer graphics and sound generation on home computers that he has modified himself, such as the Commodore 64 , Apple II , Atari and Amiga .

In 2000 he joined the media art group Pomodoro Bolzano and developed numerous performances, digital sculptures and interactive, multimedia installations together with Max D. Well and Christian Wittkowsky.

In 2005, Jori Tokyo and Pomodoro Bolzano received a culture award from the city of Regensburg as well as a mention in the Hamburger Ziegel.

The media art studio Trendlabor is founded together with Max D. Well for 2 years in Regensburg.

Pomodoro Bolzano

Since 2006 Jori Tokyo has been working on the possibilities of virtual performance as an avatar and the design of digital multiples in the online 3D infrastructure Second Life .

Jori joins the Avatar Orchestra Metaverse, created in 2006, and develops the cybernetic rooms Trendlabor, Tokyo Dollz and Virtual Haidplatz.

Performances, cybernetic sculptures as well as lectures on circuit bending , sound hacking and avatars represent the main focus of the artist.
