José Gómez Esparza

José Gómez Esparza (* 1898 Metepec near Toluca in the state of Hidalgo ; † 1970 ) was a Mexican politician and ambassador .

Life

José Gómez Esparza studied medicine at the Escuela Nacional de Medicina of the UNAM , as well as in France. He was elected to the Congress of the Union of Mexico for the legislative period from 1934 to 1937 as a replacement for the third constituency of Hidalgo and also moved up. Esparza was a member of an electoral reform committee and a large commission on indigenous affairs. In December 1941 he brought a draft to the Ley de Justicia al Indio Mexicano and a proposal to change the Departamento de Asuntos Indígenas to a Ministry Secretaría de Economía y Cultura Indígena in parliament .

In December 1942 he was chairman of the parliament. Esparza was appointed ambassador to China on November 1, 1943. On August 3, 1944, he was appointed ambassador to Bolivia , since China had been occupied by Japan since the end of 1937 and he was consequently unable to contact this country. In 1945 he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Orden del Cóndor de los Andes de Bolivia by Bolivia . In the same year he ran for the post of governor of Hidalgo, but Quintín Rueda Villagrán won the primaries and elections. From 1946 to 1952 Esparza sat in the Senate for the state of Hidalgo. From 1952 to 1953 he was general secretary of the Comité Ejecutivo Nacional of the Partido Revolucionario Institucional .
