José Guillermo Cortines

José Guillermo Cortines (born December 5, 1973 in Santo Domingo ) is a Dominican singer and actor .

Cortines studied at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña and graduated in 1996 with a specialization in graphic design and public relations. He also took singing lessons from Frank Ceara , María Remolá and Nadia Niccola . He began his musical career as a guitarist in rock bands. In the early 1990s he moderated television programs such as Sin la Muela en Vivo , Cocoloco Internacional , Boulevard 37 and Bureo Café . He appeared in mini-series such as Hasta que la Muerte nos Separe , Cuando llama el Amor , El Planeta and Apartamento 402 .

In 1997 he was successful in the role of Tony Manero in Saturday Night Fever and Rolf Grubber in The Sound of Music at the theater, directed by Nuryn Sanlley . Amaury Sánchez produced Sonido para una Imagen with him in 2003 and Disco Forever in 2005 . In 2008 he played Marius Pontmercy in Les Miserables and in 2012 Benny in La Barbería , an off-Broadway show in New York. At Telemundo and Univision he took on roles in the series Trópico , El Rostro de Analía , Amores de Luna , Más sabe el Diablo , Sacrificio de mujer , Eva Luna , Corazón Apasionado , Mia Mundo , Corazón Valiente , Mia Mundo 2 , El Rostro de la venganza and Marido en alquiler . In 2014 he worked on three feature films in the Dominican Republic: El Pelotudo , Codigo Paz and Pa'L Campamento .
